Trailer categories (CE, DE) added to Code 95 from December 2025 without separate training
Good news for drivers who already hold Code 95 for category C or D and have opened a trailer entitlement. From 12 December 2025, obtaining confirmation for CE or DE no longer requires a separate course. We explain who this saves time and money for and what it takes.
What exactly changed
Order No. 1728 of the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of 12 December 2025 supplemented the Procedure for confirming the professional competence of drivers. A new provision appeared: for a driver who already holds a valid certificate (SPPK) for categories C1, C or D1, D, the training centre issues a certificate for the corresponding trailer category — C1E, CE or D1E, DE — without undergoing training, within the validity period of the existing certificate.
In plain terms: if you have already confirmed competence for C, then adding CE does not require a second full course. The centre issues the trailer category on the basis of what you already have.
Drivers who at some point opened a trailer entitlement on their licence after already completing Code 95 for the base category, and thought they would now have to train all over again. They will not — provided the valid certificate for the base category is in hand.
What it takes
- A valid certificate for the base category. That is, an SPPK for C1, C or D1, D whose five-year term has not yet expired.
- Contact the training centre. We will check your details and tell you whether you fall under this rule with your particular set of categories.

What it does not affect
The obligation to hold Code 95 itself has not gone anywhere. The rule only simplifies adding a trailer category for those who already have the base one. If you do not yet have confirmation for C or D, you have to obtain it the usual way — depending on the category and the date it was opened, that will be the initial, initial reduced or periodic course.
